Inside.com used to be an entrepreneur focussed social network that connected founders to investors and curated useful resources for its users. The platform had no onboarding flow and was bootstrapped without a dedicated designer so they hired me to design a signup + onboarding flow as well as re-designing the overall platform. The main goals here were to convert more signups into active users who were posting and engaging with content.
The previous signup form was very basic and so I wanted this to get potential signups far more excited. I wrote a more compelling headline, threw in an AI generated (and then PS tweaked) image and introduced a rounded UI style that felt more friendly and modern compared to their previous version.

In this concept I broke up the onboarding into bite sized chunks so users wouldn't feel overwhelmed with work to do.

The main dashboard. Here I introduced the concept of a to-do list with some onboarding items pre-loaded to give users a sense of progress and direction. I also pitched to the team that they introduce business "shorts" as previously their content was only written posts. They needed to compete with the big social giants and short form videos are proven to have driven tons of engagement and growth this past 2 years. I designed everything here to be modular so that it would work smoothly on mobile devices too which was something that wasn't working well for them before.
Their old composer felt like a lot of work so I consolidated things to introduce this simpler composer where a user can see everything in a mobile sized frame without feeling overwhelmed.
