Audit Wizard

The problem (s)

$2.2 Billion stolen by hackers in 2024 alone and an increase in hacks year on year. Web3 teams and devs commonly rely on infrequent (1-2 times per year) and expensive (20-100k) audits and the dev tools available are very limited. Devs also have to juggle multiple security tools with generally poor UX/UI, tedious installs and steep learning curves. Who has the time for this? Devs should be able to easily secure code in-browser by integrating the best security tools under one roof. No installs, no steep learning curves and no more breaking the bank.

As the founding designer on the team I've spent the past 2 years researching, designing and marketing Audit Wizard from 0 to 6000+ web3 auditors and developers. All our features and tools were based on lots of user research (interviews, surveys, session captures, data analysis) and scoped down to quickly shippable MVPs before learning from initial usage and iterating again. Many of these tools were first to market like our static analysis scanners, 1-click imports, AI powered Foundry testing, Sentry reports and much more.

We built this to solve a very serious and painful series of threats affecting millions of people so wanted the design to instil trust and professionalism. That being said, our target users (devs) share a love for the world of gaming and sci-fi literature so we wanted to infuse playful touches of this into our branding and UI to provide moments of delight where appropriate. It was a fine balance and a fun challenge!

I designed the branding and every feature and component in the app from the Alpha phase through to Beta and finally our Prod level platform. As the app matured I built a comprehensive design system to stay consistent and empower my team mates with the ability to design new experiences too.

The gamified home page where users could manage, import and discover projects in one place.
Github integration
IDE view for projects supported by a powerful toolkit to find and document threats.
Our AI assistant was our most used feature and retention driver.
A graph feature mvp where users can better visualise how functions interact
Powerful 1 click reports that do all the heavy lifting by leveraging AI
We explored lots of monetization paths with this example showing a more standard upgrade path modal with exciting positioning around 'levelling up' and getting closer to the money with the golden tones.
We had to make it super easy for our users to log their findings in-app and made this possible in-line as well as with a more comprehensive notepad in the toolbox.
Foundry testing can be very tedious so we built a tool to make it much easier for devs to generate tests (PoCs) for their code harnessing the power of AI and our helpful snippet libraries. This UI got complicated very quickly so we worked closely with users to scope it down as much as possible for the first version.

I'm always keen to collaborate with ambitious teams who want to disrupt markets and empower people with software superpowers.

Life is too short not to make your great ideas happen and I love taking rough concepts through to successful launch and beyond.
